For the trifle layers:

  • 1 pound cake or sponge cake, cubed (store-bought or homemade)
  • 3 ripe peaches, peeled and sliced thin
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup vanilla pudding or pastry cream
  • ¼ cup peach preserves or peach syrup (optional for extra flavor)

👨‍🍳 Instructions

1. Whip the cream:
In a chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form. Chill until ready to layer.

2. Prepare the cake:
Cube your pound cake or sponge cake. Optional: brush with peach syrup or liqueur for added moisture and flavor.

3. Build the trifle:
In a large glass trifle dish or individual glasses, layer in this order:

  • A layer of cake cubes

  • A spoonful of vanilla pudding
  • A dollop of whipped cream

Repeat layers until you reach the top.

4. Finish and chill:
Top with remaining whipped cream and garnish with crushed cookies, mint, or almonds. Chill at least 1 hour before serving for best flavor blending.

  • Use canned peaches if fresh aren’t in season—just drain them well.
  • Add a splash of bourbon or Grand Marnier to the whipped cream for an adult twist.
